18th-19th century. The era known as the Industrial Revolution, was a period in which fundamental changes occurred in agriculture, textile and metal manufacture, transportation, economic policies and the social structure in England. This period is appropriately labeled “revolution,” for it thoroughly destroyed the old manner of doing things. The year 1760 is generally accepted as the “eve” of the Industrial Revolution. Chimneys, bridges and factory smoke blocked out most of the light in the towns. A layer of dirty smoke often covered the streets like a blanket. This came from the factories that used steam to power their machines. The steam was made by burning coal to heat water. Burning coal produces a lot of dirty, black smoke.

The concept of Industrial Zero, covers a period between 1760 and 2020, ‘’from steam to oil and afterwards’’. It’s a tuneful journey through the greatest inventions and theories of the last centuries. This journey ends in the near future, when strange facts take place progressively, such as the oil-economical-ethical-social crisis. The concept is not covered with lyrics  but  speeches,  that  are  easily audible  in  the  songs.

“Synchresis” as a manufactured word comes out of synthesis,crisis and synchronisation. As a music album released on spring of 2012 by emdy, follows a clear-cut experimental agenda, engaging with contemporary fields of electronic and electro-acoustic music. An amalgamation of a detailed sound design that ranges across various styles, creates the sense of contrast between the experimentalist scene and music simplicity. Managing to remain musically intense and emotional by the use of classical instruments among the electronics, stretching creativity and multiplicity in the production and composition development.

By the first days of April, From A Tree Records is planning to release a digital only compilation of remixes from track “HAT-P” featured in the album “Lyr – Lyr”

All you need to do is download the parts for the track, create your remix in the folowing styles and submit it to us for listening. Acceptable styles are Techno / Minimal / House / Microhouse.

Once you are happy with your remix, just send it to us using the dropbox below. We will pick our favorite remixes and the winning tracks will appear on the remix compilation.

The best remixes will be released in Beatport, and a contract will follow every musician.

The deadline to enter your remix is midnight April, 7 2012.

Lyr HAT-P Remix Competition: Entry guidelines, information, terms & conditions

1. Your remix can be in Techno / Minimal / House / Microhouse and can be as similar or different to the original as you wish. We will pick the best and most interesting remix, so use your imagination.

2. If you publicise a full-length version of your remix before a winner is picked we are much less likely to choose your track, even if itís really good.

3. Winning means that your remix will appear on the album with full credit to you. Winning the competition does not entail any form of financial reward for entrants.

4. Entering the remix competition implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions, which are legally binding. Lyr reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if we have reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions.

5. Please do not submit unfinished tracks or “works in progress“. These will be automatically disqualified.

6. We will not be able to enter into ëfeedbackí conversations about your entries, so please do not request this.

7. You may enter more than one remix.

8. You may use as many or as few of the samples as you see fit and you may add as much of your own content as you wish.

9. The winning track will be professionally mastered at Orange Studio. 10. The winning track must be provided in either WAV or AIFF format prior to mastering.

11. The remix compilation will be a digital-only release.

12. The competition closes at midnight on April, 7 2012.

13. All entries must be received by midnight on the stipulated closing date. Those not received by the deadline will be invalid to enter. All entries must be submitted via the Lyr Soundcloud dropbox. Entries submitted via other means will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received by Soundcloud due to technical or other delivery difficulties.

14. The winners will be selected after the closing date at the discretion of Lyr, whose decision is final. The winners will be notified within 7 days.

15. All parts made available to download, and all parts downloaded remain the property of Lyr. All remixes completed, whether submitted in this competition or not, remain the property of Lyr. No exploitation, or distribution of remixes shall be permitted without the sole written consent of Lyr.

16. Winners will be the remixes submitted from all relevant entrants as the ones most liked by Lyr.

17. No purchase necessary and no proof of purchase required.

18. Lyr’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. There is no cash alternative and the prize is non-transferable.

19. Lyr reserves the right to verify the eligibility of applications.

20. The winners’ names may be published on fromatree.gr, Lyr’s social networks and Soundcloud.com after the closing date of the competition. Lyr has the right to contact the winners for permission to involve them in any post prize-giving publicity and the winner agrees to such activities and shall make themselves reasonably available for such purposes.

21. Your entry must not infringe on the rights of any third party, including, but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, or rights of privacy or publicity, or other intellectual property rights.

22. Lyr reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this competition at anytime without prior notice. Any changes will be posted within the rules on fromatree.gr / other platforms

23. The competition and the terms and conditions of this agreement will be governed by the law of Greece.

24. Prize is subject to final selection. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, Lyr retains the right to offer an alternative prize.

After the musical seperation from the first album of Lyr, there is a second track flirting with Beatport Top 100 Minimal section. A minimal tech track following the footsteps of the previus one, called Aquila Cadens. Kepler-9 is a sunlike star in the constellation of Lyra, and so this track tries to resemble the brightness of the star by giving a fast and moving kind of musical image.

It is the idea behind the musical combination of traditional african music, experimental rythms, ambient and noise elements. It is a musical interpretation between soundscapes and the Lyra constellation. A beautiful blending of sounds and moving images that represents the whole idea behind the musician named Lyr.

The first album from Lyr, with ten tracks followed by a minimal cover is the birthchild of the artist. Unique minimal electronic musical landscapes and massive distorted rythms are the heartbeat of every track. Every song gives it’s glow to the next one compiling a concept album that is an ode to the lyra constellation.

Taking elements from the mother of all rythms, african music, Lyr builds the foundation of this electronic genre gently blending it with  simple ideas to produce a final result.
